The structure of the fiberglass storage tank generally consists of four layers: inner lining layer, secondary inner layer, reinforcement layer, and outer protective layer.
The function of the inner lining layer of the fiberglass storage tank: usually consists of a resin-rich layer made of polyester surface felt and lining resin, with a resin content of 80%-90%, and for large containers, not less than 90%. It serves as a barrier against seepage and corrosion, has good air tightness, and high smoothness.
The function of the secondary inner layer of the fiberglass storage tank: (also known as the intermediate anti-corrosion layer) usually consists of a reinforcement layer made of lining resin and knitted felt, with a resin content of 68%-78%, and for large containers, 75±3%. In addition to corrosion resistance, its main function is to protect the inner lining layer, preventing the expansion of cracks in the inner lining layer.
The structural layer of the fiberglass storage tank: made by impregnating alkali-free, untwisted glass fiber winding yarn with resin, and then winding in a combination of circumferential and transverse winding methods, with a resin content of 25%-40%, and for large containers, 35±5%. It is used to withstand various stresses and external loads. The wall thickness is determined by our design personnel based on the technical specification and engineering drawings you provide, and is calculated reasonably and scientifically according to the fiberglass winding design specifications for circumferential stress, axial stress, and bending Poisson's ratio.
The outer surface layer of the fiberglass storage tank protects the tank from external erosion and aging. The resin content is not less than 70%.
