FRP purlins are a type of building structural material made of glass fiber reinforced plastic (FRP), often used in the support systems of roofs and walls.
Performance characteristics
Excellent corrosion resistance: Made of high-strength glass fiber and corrosion-resistant resin, it can resist the erosion of harmful substances in acid rain, seawater, industrial waste gas, etc., without the need for additional anti-corrosion treatment. It is suitable for corrosive environments such as chemical plants and coastal areas.
Strong anti-aging ability: By adding ultraviolet absorbers or stabilizers, it can effectively resist ultraviolet radiation, and has a low coefficient of thermal expansion. It can maintain its shape unchanged even under large temperature differences, has excellent weather resistance, is not easily affected by moisture, mold, etc., and has long-lasting mechanical properties.
Lightweight and high strength: Its weight is only about 1/4 of that of steel purlins, but its tensile strength is ≥300MPa. It is easy to install, can reduce structural load, and is also convenient for transportation.
Good insulation performance: Volume resistivity ≥10¹²Ω · cm, with excellent insulation properties, suitable for use in substations, electronic factories and other places with anti-static requirements.
Excellent seismic performance: FRP materials have a certain degree of flexibility and elastic modulus, which can absorb a certain degree of vibration energy and reduce the damage caused by natural disasters such as earthquakes to buildings.
Production process
The pultrusion molding process is usually adopted. Glass fiber and resin are scientifically proportioning and go through processes such as impregnation, pultrusion, high-temperature curing, and cutting to form purlins with specific shapes and sizes. The product surface is smooth and flat, free of cracks and bubbles, and can ensure dimensional stability and mechanical properties meeting standards.
