FRP elbow is a commonly used fiberglass reinforced plastic (FRP) pipe connection component, used to change the direction of pipes.
Performance characteristics
Lightweight and high strength: The material density is typically 1.8-2.1g/cm³, approximately 1/4-1/5 that of steel. However, its circumferential tensile strength is ≥300MPa, and its specific strength is higher than that of steel, making it convenient for transportation and installation.
Corrosion resistance: It has excellent corrosion resistance to acids, alkalis, salts, etc., and can resist the erosion of various corrosive media, making it suitable for harsh chemical environments.
High-temperature resistance: It can generally be used for a long time within the temperature range of -40 ℃ to 70℃. With a special formula of high-temperature resistant resin, it can also operate normally at temperatures above 200℃.
Wear resistance: The smooth surface makes it less prone to dirt accumulation, reducing the resistance of the pipeline. At the same time, it has excellent wear resistance, which can extend the service life.
Production process
Molding process: A certain amount of molding material is added to the preheated elbow mold, and it is solidified and formed through heating and pressurization. It features high production efficiency and good dimensional accuracy.
Winding process: Through winding equipment, glass fiber yarn is wound onto the core mold in accordance with specific rules, and then solidified to form. It is suitable for large-diameter elbows.
Hand lay-up process: There are three structural forms, namely integral forming on the mold, semi-mold split forming, and shrimp segment bending forming after prefabricated pipes. It is highly flexible and suitable for non-standard customized products.

FRP elbows are widely used in industries such as chemical engineering, power, environmental protection, and water treatment, especially in pipeline systems under harsh environments with strong corrosiveness, high temperature and high pressure.
